Phase 2 of saving the Methodist Church

Linchpin Engineering has released their report to Save the Methodist Church. 

The plan is to "Straighten then strengthen" the church. 

"Linchpin recommends that the building be straightened and strengthened. We believe that with some relatively simple methods (using anchors, turnbuckles and wire ropes), much of the racking could be removed. Once straightened to a reasonable level, strengthening would occur.

We propose that new plywood sheathed shearwalls are constructed within the wall cavities. We propose that the interior finish is removed to expose a small length of each of the four exterior walls. Within the exposed framing, new shearwalls would be constructed, and then the finishes would be replaced."

We need to raise $75,000.

The Methodist Church has started to lean significantly to the right, and backward as well. Perhaps one of the most prominent buildings in Bodie, the church needs to be righted.
