Keep Bodie Standing

Bodie State Historic Park is one of the last authentic American ghost towns. Nothing has been restored or recreated, what you see today is exactly what was left behind more than a century ago. Homes, businesses, artifacts, and entire streets remain frozen in time, making Bodie both irreplaceable and incredibly fragile.

Bodie is preserved through a rare method called arrested decay. Buildings are stabilized, not rebuilt. Once a structure collapses, it may be gone forever.

Extreme conditions take a constant toll:

• Winters as cold as –40°F
• Winds over 100 mph
• Heavy snow and year‑round exposure

Time and weather never stop, preservation can’t wait.

This campaign supports the Bodie Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to hands-on preservation, artifact conservation, and public education, in partnership with California State Parks.
